Dale Pitchure was born in Detroit and later moved to West Michigan. He married his high school sweetheart, raised a wonderful family, and built a life as a successful business owner and active, caring member of his community.

Dale began painting at age 70. He has studied under James Brandess of the Ox-Bow School of Art and Artists’ Residency. He now enjoys spending his retirement days playing with paints—creating bold, colorful art that both reflects and inspires the best of life.

He has long been influenced and inspired by the beauty of nature—particularly the water. Seasons of his life have been spent with family on the shores of the Great Lakes and the Gulf of Mexico. The warmth of the sun, the colors of the sky, the lines of the water, the movement of the breeze, and the simple joy of light and laughter can be felt and seen in his varied works.
